LIVER/KIDNEY CLEANSE
The liver is the largest gland in the body and is an important organ of the digestive system but is vitally concerned directly or indirectly in all bodily functions. The liver is the powerhouse of the body receiving blood rich in digested foods, which it metabolises in cell nutrients. As a horse does not have a gall bladder like humans, the liver is solely responsible for secreting bile to initiate digestion in the gut. The liver plays a vital role of cleansing the blood of toxins, poisons, long-term drug use, viral and bacterial infections and migrating worm larvae.
The function of the kidneys or urinary system is to maintain water and electrolyte balance with the body and to excrete from it certain products of metabolism, particularly urea. The kidneys also secrete certain hormones including those responsible for controlling red blood production and calcium levels in the body. Both of these have important roles in the well being of your horse and if disturbances are in either of these it does have it’s effects on the rest of the body.
Liver/Kidney cleanse is made up on amino acids which are the basic building blocks of the body. Muscles, organs, brain, skin, bones, hair and hoof are made mainly with proteins and proteins are made of amino acids. The cells of the liver and kidneys need this for regeneration and washing out damaging toxins. Amino acids also guard against free radical destruction.
